I've yet to post with it though, but will do soon enough.
My feedback (and suggestions): I love that it downloads the lj tags so I can choose from them Same with the usericons Messages are only between users, but not the notifications that get sent to my inbox and I'd love to be able to see my flist without having to open safari ;) oh... and posting to communities... I'd like that :)
Friends page will be available within 0.6 release. You can post to all of your joined communities at same time =) Look at the settings of the post — left top button named Settings, than Journal (and don't forget to uncheck your blog if you want to post to community only).
So far I Absolutely LOVE this app... only thing I noticed so far that can use a bit of work (and its not really that important) is the auto location is a bit off.. usually about 1500 meters to the west, north and south vary. I do like the option to use a auto location... any chance that a future version could have a option in the posting to choose either a entered location or a auto location? Its a minor minor thing. you can still go to the options screen and change it there but would like to have the option at time of post.
So far I have not had any problems using the app. no crashes or freezeups. makes posting photos super easy as well.
I see that you'll be adding friends view, which is great... also will that include custom friends groups?
For the "messages" screen, it should include everything within the "inbox" (comment responses, etc - http://www.livejournal.com/inbox/) rather than just direct messages from users.
Please see if you can resolve a name for the automatic location, instead of posting the latitude and longitude coordinates. (Instead of "42.447723, -76.491776," I'd rather see "Ithaca, New York" for my location. Twinkle does this very well for Twitter posts, if you'd like to see an example.)
Especially for first-generation iPhones with no GPS, the six digits beyond the decimal point is very inaccurate, and it implies a specific location that is almost certainly wrong. I realize I could put in location text by hand for each post, but I do like the automatic feature.
Otherwise, the app seems to work very well! Congratulations!
In 0.5.2 i do this as option. It will decode coordinates into Country, State and City. In future version i may determine address up to street and building details, but only for US.
This is fantastic, thanks for all your hard work AND making it free, it's VERY close to being perfect, and the addition of friends pages will be it, roll on version 6, I'll be sure to tell all my friends about it!
awesome!!! i didnt read this until after i downloaded the app. i wanted to update my lj and decided to check the app store and there is was!! ive been waiting since july thank you!!
this is almost totally perfect -- one problem i'm having maybe you can help with? if i post a picture, i want the gallery it goes into to have the same security setting as my posts (all-friends or a filter). but if i set that gallery to that security setting, the picture disappears. help?
1) Some people have asked for messages to include the entire notifications inbox. If you do this PLEASE make it configurable. What it does now is EXACTLY what I want to see and all I want to see. I already get comment notifications on the email account my iPhone reads, I do not need them twice.
2) Will it ever be able to support LJ clone sites? What about cross-posting? This is a lot better than using the built-in browser but I still miss the easy ability I have at home with Semagic to post to my LJ and IJ at the same time....
Great, well thought & intuitive app! Found two bugs though. The app crashes when trying to download my list of user pics and current location is grabbing the location of my ISP's junction box instead of my actual location when on a WiFi network. Looking forward to the next update!

Will the post preview and horisontal keyboard be available? If not, it's still great and neat!
After you have the friends list will that be possible to also see the filtered friends lists?

Re: Great App -- but userpics crash it :(
It's not about userpics amount. I think it's about some bug with keywords parsing. I'm working on solution for this problem now.October 15 2008, 22:37:10 UTC 3 years ago
